Got Aches and Pains? 6 Quick Fixes for the Fearless Girl

December 11, 2017

All fearless girls have at least one thing in common. Every now and then, WE JUST DON'T FEEL GOOD! I'm not referring to the symptoms associated with our various conditions. I'm actually referring to our everyday moans and groans, aches and pains and overall annoyances. Although we manage to function while experiencing these symptoms, that doesn't change the fact that THEY SUCK. Headaches, hair thinning, fatigue and many other symptoms often serve as enemies of progress for the fearless girl. Below, I've provided a few suggestions based on my own experiences that can hopefully help my fellow fearless ladies. DISCLAIMER: The information in this post is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

1. THINNING HAIR

For one reason or another, illnesses or treatments can cause your hair to thin or become extremely dry and brittle. Your hair may not shed completely but you don't feel comfortable wearing it down either. What's a girl to do? Give your hair as much moisture as possible and don't stress it out. Here's how.

  • Moisturize your hair with natural products such as raw shea butter and coconut oil

  • Drink water

  • Trim your hair every 6-8 weeks

  • Stay away from SUPER TIGHT braids/weaves

  • Invest in a hair stylist that will actually take care of your hair!

2. NAUSEA

Nausea is like that annoying fly that you just can't swat. It has a way of creeping up on you just because it feels like it. Like hair thinning, your condition as well as various drug therapies can cause nausea. So how do you get through your day-to-day activities with it?

  • Apple Cider Vinegar (Mixed with water and honey or your favorite tea)

  • Fresh Lemon Juice (This can also be mixed into water or tea)

  • Peppermint Scent or Tea

3. UPSET STOMACH

If nausea is the fly, then an upset stomach is the bumblebee that comes out of no where to sting you. IT'S PAINFUL! It is also extremely unpredictable. It usually creeps up with your nausea and will often have you feeling like staying at home all day. Guess what? You have options.

  • Heating Pad for Stomach Cramps

  • Your Favorite Soup

  • Apple Cider Vinegar

4. HEADACHES/MIGRAINES

Who loves the painful, pulsing, throbbing feeling that you get when you have a headache or migraine? NO ONE DOES! It's especially stressful when you have to work or learn through this feeling. Try a few of these tips!

  • Stay Hydrated

  • Avoid Salty and Processed Foods

  • Limit Your Stress As Best As You Can

  • Sleep

  • Spend Some Time Away From Bright Light, Loud Noises & Electronic Device Screens

5. FATIGUE

Have you ever been so tired that it almost hurts? This symptom is probably my biggest ache and pain and I'm sure that many will agree with me. Our bodies definitely require rest but we are also expected to have energized periods. If you have a feeling of exhaustion that you just can't seem to get over, then that might be fatigue. How do you handle it?

  • Get a Good Night's Sleep (This will limit fatigue and increase your energy)

  • Eat Bananas

  • Decrease Fried Food Intake

  • Eat Three Times a Day (Don't skip meals!)

6. YOUR FACE

By the time you've experienced all of these symptoms, you're probably pretty upset. If you're anything like me, your face tells it all. Try to remember that behind all of the moans and groans, you're FEARLESS. So FIX YOUR FACE. Smile, laugh, or do whatever makes you feel better. Something safe and healthy of course (lol). This is the easiest and fastest fix and it'll make your bad days a little bit better.

This post lists a few remedies that have worked to cure my aches and pains over the last few years and I hope that they can help others as well. Try them out, see how they work for you and feel free to share your experience with others.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!
STAY TUNED AND STAY FEARLESS!

XOXO
